Images of text per WCAG 1.4.5
Text should be real text, not graphics. Text in images cannot be scaled, contrast-adjusted or read out by screen readers — except for pure decoration or when the exact rendering is essential (logo).
Typical cases
Buttons and banners with burned-in text, social-media quote graphics that end up on the website 1:1, PDF scans.
How to do it right
Design the text with CSS instead of rendering it in the image. If a graphic is unavoidable, also make the text available as real text (or alt).
